Employees of facilities contact center Transcom in Groningen are striking for 24 hours today. This is the result of days of pressure on employer Transcom, which has so far been unsuccessful, to return to the negotiating table. On behalf of the employees, the unions are demanding a better social plan. Transcom intends to close the branch as of November 1.
Earlier, the unions FNV and CNV jointly presented a petition to the board of the Swedish company, addressed to Marieke Smidt (CEO EMEA at Transcom) and Brian Johnson (President and CEO at Transcom). Along with this, a ultimatum assuming that it ended last midnight. Both FNV and CNV state that they have received no response from Transcom.
The employees are on strike all day today; strikers are being registered between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
