TP appoints Bastiaan Groeneveld as CEO Benelux & Suriname

TP announces that Bastiaan Groeneveld will take up the position of CEO of TP Benelux & Suriname effective September 1, 2026. Groeneveld has been the organization's CIO since February 2019 and has combined that role with that of CHRO for the past year. Both portfolios will remain with him; the separate executive positions for IT and HR will not be filled.

That choice is substantive, according to TP in the press release. In a market where AI is taking over volume and the remaining work is becoming more complex, technology and personnel are no longer separate issues. By placing both under a single board member, close to operations, a layer between strategy and execution disappears. In the new model, the HR manager and the IT director report directly to the CEO; both positions thereby acquire a broader mandate than before.

Successor to Van Liemt

Groeneveld will lead TP Benelux & Suriname together with Chief Commercial Officer Peter-Paul Feijen, who took office in May 2026. Groeneveld is thereby the formal successor of Norbert van Liemt, who stepped down as CEO last summer.

Groeneveld has been working for TP Benelux since 2019; prior to that, he worked in various ICT roles for different companies.

The appointment aligns with the course TP is charting in the Benelux: from classic customer contact services to Trust & Safety, AI & Data Services, risk and back-office processes, and transformation work. According to TP, the distinction lies not in the use of AI—almost everyone does that by now, the company states—but in actually getting it into production.

Research by McKinsey (The State of AI, 2025) shows that 88 percent of organizations now use AI in at least one business function – an increase from 78 percent a year earlier – while only 37 percent indicate that this use contributes measurably to the bottom line. TP was one of the first major players in the sector to obtain ISO/IEC 42001 certification for AI management; currently, fewer than one hundred companies worldwide hold this certificate.

“As a CIO, I saw how quickly technology became strategic; as a CHRO, what it takes to bring people along,” says Groeneveld. “I did those two things side by side for years. From now on, I will do them as one thing, and closer to where the work happens,” adds Groeneveld.

TP currently has 410.000 employees in 91 countries and serves more than 1.700 clients. TP has been active in the Benelux and Suriname since 1992, with offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Suriname, and is one of the leading players in the BPO market.
