Teleperformance has announced that it will once again offer full-service content moderation services, including moderation of highly sensitive and coarse content.

 

In November 2022, Teleperformance had announced that the company would stop moderating highly egregious content within the trust and safety division. Since then, the company has kept its promise not to take on new assignments to moderate highly egregious content while honoring its existing contractual obligations.

The decision comes after a lengthy review of operations, including discussions with various stakeholders, including employees, customers, employee representatives and shareholders. In addition, Teleperformance has conducted detailed internal audits and an external review of its operations by Korn Ferry and Bureau Veritas, with a focus on human resource management and workplace practices.

The main findings of the talks and assessments are that Teleperformance is one of the leading providers of content management services; that Teleperformance pays a lot of attention to the well-being of its employees; and that the company's content administrators take pride in what they do and feel they are adequately supported by the company in providing this public service.

While highly egregious content is a very small part of Teleperformance's content moderation work, Teleperformance now believes that it is in the best interest of the billions of people online every day that Teleperformance continues to fully meet the needs of its customers in terms of content moderation and does not cease any part of the business.

Teleperformance will continue to work with its customers, academia, employee representatives and other industry experts to make this activity even more secure. These initiatives include greater use of the latest AI products to improve automatic screening of harmful content and further improvements in physical and emotional wellness programs for content managers.
