Employees of Concentrix in Spain have gone to court. They disagree with a reorganization at the Spanish branch in A Coruña. This is reported by UNI Global Union.

Concentrix plans to reduce the number of jobs at its Spanish branch in A Coruña by nearly half and eliminate 160 of the 380 positions. The first round of the reorganization took place in July, leading to 80 layoffs; a second round of layoffs followed in August, in which 74 employees lost their jobs.

The employees, who in July among other strike, argue that the company has insufficiently substantiated the layoffs. Furthermore, in the second round, the BPO company is offering only the statutory minimum severance pay: 20 days' wages per year of service, with a maximum of twelve months' salary. According to the unions, the terms were better during previous reorganizations. The employees, represented by various trade unions, say that the accountant working on behalf of Concentrix has confirmed that the company is financially strong enough to increase the severance pay.

Work for Microsoft, among others, is carried out from the Spanish branch in A Coruña.
