Yesterday, ContactCare opened a new contact center location in Antwerp. With this, the CX service provider is taking a deliberate step into the Belgian market. ContactCare is starting with 20 workstations in a historic building on the Meir, 'the most beautiful shopping street in Antwerp'.
The opening was performed by ContactCare CEO Jasper Meerding and Mathieu Derez, head of customer service at CCV Group. That company is also the launching customer, with approximately 20 employees who will focus on supporting business users of the payment provider's services.
CCV was already doing business with WEngage and, following the bankruptcy of WEngage Netherlands, became involved with ContactCare. Part of the Dutch-language customer contact work was handled by Soleo. CCV launched an RFP for the Belgian market. ContactCare won this tender, meaning CCV's French- and Dutch-language customer contact is now consolidated with a single party.
In his opening remarks, Meerding referred to the challenges encountered when starting a company in Belgium for the first time, such as arranging a social secretariat. The premises were subsequently renovated and furnished “under pressure” so that services to CCV could start on time.
“We deliberately chose a location based on connection,” says Meerding. “A place where people enjoy coming to work. We strive for low turnover and absenteeism, and you achieve that by connecting people with each other.”
The Antwerp branch of ContactCare is led by Julie Thomas, who has a strong track record in customer contact. She started at telecom player Orange Belgium, where she progressed from operations to staff and management positions. Subsequently, she worked for IPG as a team leader and was operations manager at TP in Antwerp for several years.
