The European Commission has started preparing the new European Consumer Agenda 2025–2030. The Customer Service Federation (CSF) has been approached in the consultation round that has now opened to provide input for this agenda. The CSF calls on members to contribute to the CSF's input on future consumer policy.
This strategic policy document sets out the priorities and plans for consumer policy in the EU. The aim is to strengthen the rights of consumers in the EU. It also aims to ensure that consumers can buy and consume fairly, safely and sustainably – both online and offline.
The Agenda has a direct impact on regulation, supervision and consumer rights, and on the way businesses and service providers in the EU should interact with consumers. That is why it is important that sector organisations such as KSF provide input: to ensure that the policy is workable, fair and forward-looking. A key component is a planned legislative initiative: a Digital Fairness Regulation, which aims to tackle manipulative and unethical business practices in the digital environment and reduce legal uncertainty for businesses.
The Consumer Agenda 2025–2030 will set priorities for the coming years and present a list of initiatives and actions in the field of consumer policy. It will complement other relevant EU initiatives.
Anyone who would like to provide input can contact KSF director Roel Masselink (via directie@klantenservicefederatie.nl) (KSF)
