The board of Kifid has appointed Dr. GO (Onno) van Veldhuizen as the new chairman of the board of the Financial Services Complaints Institute Foundation, or Kifid for short, effective 1 January 2025.

 

Van Veldhuizen will succeed Ralph Pans, who will step down on 31 December 2024 due to reaching the maximum term of office. As the new chairman of the board, Mr Van Veldhuizen wants to contribute to further strengthening the position and good reputation of Kifid as an expert and reliable complaints institute.

From Veldhuizen has been a State Councillor at the Council of State since October 2021. He is familiar with working in a financial, social and political environment, has experience with the judiciary and knowledge and affinity with the issues that Kifid deals with. Minister Heinen of Finance and Minister Van Hijum of Social Affairs have approved the appointment.

Van Veldhuizen is an experienced manager with a diverse background. He has a warm heart for public affairs and was mayor of Nieuwkoop, Hoorn and Enschede. In the business world, he worked as a lawyer at Loeff Claeys Verbeke, was a partner at Omni Finance & Investment Group and a corporate lawyer/MT member at Royal Gist Brocades (now DSM). In addition, he held a large number of national and international management and secondary positions, including in the field of public safety and public financial services.

Kifid

The Kifid board monitors the quality and independence of the complaint handling, is ultimately responsible for the Foundation and determines the policy and budget. In doing so, it takes into account the interests and objectives of the foundation. The board appoints the board members and the chairmen and members of the Disputes Committee and the Appeals Committee. The board meets six times a year and acts as a sparring partner for the chair of the Disputes Committee and director of Kifid, who has the daily management of the institute. (Kifid)
