Headset company EPOS gets new owner

Danish company Demant is selling its EPOS headset brand to the American company ACCO Brands. Afterward, Demant plans to focus entirely on hearing care. ACCO Brands is paying seven million euros for the brand plus additional performance-based fees.

ACCO is an American manufacturer of office supplies with well-known subsidiaries such as Leitz, Esselte, Swingline, GBC, and Rexel. ACCO Brands wants to integrate the EPOS headsets into the Kensington portfolio of headsets and thus expand its presence in the market for high-end business headsets.

Headset brand EPOS was spun off in 2020 from Sennheiser Communications, a previous joint venture between Demant and Sennheiser. This joint venture jointly developed and distributed headsets for business and enterprise use. Although Sennheiser withdrew from the joint venture several years ago, the sale of EPOS now marks the logical conclusion of this chapter.

The transaction is subject to customary contractual and regulatory approvals and is expected to close in early 2026. (Demant)
