Genesys today announced plans to make the Genesys Cloud platform available through the AWS European Sovereign Cloud.

According to Genesys, the goal is to give organizations in regulated industries more choice in how they drive AI innovation. This move also serves to address increasing demands for data sovereignty, data residency, and governance, the company says.

Genesys is acting as an introductory partner for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud and is expected to be among the first experience orchestration companies to offer services through this cloud.

Data sovereignty

“Data sovereignty is no longer optional for EU organizations, especially when deploying AI at scale,” said Olivier Jouve, chief product officer at Genesys. “By expanding Genesys Cloud usage models with the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, we enable customers to ensure data sovereignty, maintain control over their data, ensure all data remains within the appropriate jurisdictions, and confidently deploy AI within highly regulated environments.”

This new deployment option expands the global capabilities of Genesys Cloud, which currently runs in 21 AWS regions. Organizations can now have a consistent platform for supporting customers and employees across regions while complying with regional guidelines and regulatory requirements, according to Genesys.

In the press release, the company emphasizes data sovereignty and does not address the limitations of AWS European Sovereign CloudGenesys says the Genesys Cloud European Sovereign region will “meet local governance, data residency, and operational oversight requirements without compromising innovation, security, or performance.”

The Genesys Cloud European Sovereign region is expected to be available within the AWS European Sovereign Cloud in the second quarter of Genesys' fiscal year (May 1 to July 31, 2026). (Genesys)
