DHL has announced on Twitter that the customer contact channels Facebook and Twitter will be closed. The company has come to this choice because it can no longer guarantee the security of personal data - especially if a data breach occurs.

“Unfortunately, we no longer have the authority to handle the questions on social media. That's because Twitter and Facebook are not owned by DHL, so we cannot guarantee the security of your data," the company explained to customers. They are now being called upon to contact them by telephone or chat.

On Twitter, some customers are angry and say that the company does not want all questions and complaints to be publicly visible.
