Delta Fiber is closing its office on Bedrijfsweg in Vlissingen. Schiedam will become the main location; customer service will remain in Middelburg.
The decision has far-reaching consequences for 61 employees, according to the daily newspaper PZC. Instead of Vlissingen, Schiedam will become their workplace. The operation aims to merge locations to 'strengthen mutual cooperation', according to PZC. There is room for 23 other employees in one of the two offices of Delta Fiber on Buitenruststraat in Middelburg, where the number of workplaces is being expanded. Only the teams that deal with customer service will remain in Middelburg.
Employees who have to move from Vlissingen to Schiedam are allowed to work from home for forty percent of their time, but “only if the position allows it”. Delta Fiber will enter into discussions with employees who (despite various compensation measures) do not feel like traveling to Schiedam on an individual level.
Delta Fiber has grown into a company with 1.200 employees, providing 1,7 million households and businesses with fiber optics. The company is the largest operator of fiber optic networks in the Netherlands after KPN. (PZC)
