SAPThe German CRM and ERP giant SAP is going to lay off 8000 employees. Approximately 108.000 people work at SAP. CEO Christian Klein announced this during a press conference about the quarterly results, according to various sources.

The aim of the reorganization is to prepare the company for a future dominated by AI. The company wants to become number one in the field of business applications and Business AI. SAP will therefore devote more resources to the development of AI-based services and will allocate almost a billion dollars for this in two years.

The reorganization itself is expected to cost two billion euros. In addition to layoffs, the plan also includes intensive retraining and further training programs for employees. A year ago, SAP said it would cut 3.000 positions.
