BPO service provider ContactCare has opened a new location on Dr. JF Nassylaan in Paramaribo. ContactCare has completely transformed the former multi-tenant building, which previously housed several businesses, restaurants, and residential units, into a modern contact center that meets European quality standards.
ContactCare started in 2023 with offshore activities in a rented building. The company's second location is a colonial building purchased and fully renovated by ContactCare, located in the heart of the Surinamese capital. The new office is located on Dr. JF Nassylaan, a characteristic avenue in Paramaribo, lined with mahogany trees and overlooking the Nieuwe Oranjetuin (New Orange Garden). The building offers space for a large workspace, training facilities, and relaxation areas, and contributes to sustainable long-term housing.
This step underlines ContactCare its international growth ambitions and its long-term vision on quality services, good employment practices and social involvement.
Long-term focus
The further investment in Suriname is the result of a combination of factors, according to the company. The labor market in the Netherlands remains tight and wage costs are rising, making international expansion a logical next step. Suriname boasts a talented and service-oriented workforce with strong language skills, an affinity for Dutch culture, and a work ethic that aligns well with ContactCare's core business. Furthermore, the Surinamese location offers an attractive cost advantage compared to the Netherlands.
Founder and owner Jasper Meerding wants ContactCare to "serve as a role model for employers in Suriname. Decent employment also places demands on a building. We couldn't find a single rental location that met our requirements: a spacious workspace, training rooms, and good recreational facilities."
B-Corp
With its new location, ContactCare aims to be an attractive employer for Surinamese professionals. The organization focuses on professional growth, training, and personal development, positioning customer contact as a valuable career path with opportunities for advancement.
In line with its B Corp certification, ContactCare is also actively committed to social responsibility. Besides competitive salaries, they also focus on secondary employment conditions, support, and employee well-being. With this, the company aims to be not only an employer but also a social partner that contributes to sustainable development in Suriname.
