Cognigy, a German supplier of AI-based customer service automation, has raised 93 million euros in a series C financing round.
The money was raised from existing and new investors, including Insight Partners, DTCP and DN Capital. This announcement follows years of triple-digit growth for Cognigy, fueled by an increase in market demand across all sectors. “This financing allows us to seize this opportunity, expand our global footprint and continue to innovate our platform to meet the changing needs of our customers,” said one of the founders, Philipp Heltewig.
Over the past 12 months, Cognigy has seen explosive growth in the use of its platform, with hundreds of millions of interactions handled on the platform.
With a workforce of 175 employees in Dusseldorf and San Francisco, which Heltewig expects to grow to 250 by the end of the year, Cognigy plans to invest the new capital in geographic expansion in the US and product R&D. In particular, the company aims to expand R&D in Conversational AI with Generative AI, enabling the creation of more advanced and intuitive customer service solutions.
The German company was founded in 2016 by Philipp Heltewig (formerly CIO at Sitecore), Sascha Poggemann and Benjamin Mayr, among others. Cognigy works for approximately 175 clients, including Lufthansa Group, Virgin Pulse, Frontier Airlines, Bosch, Toyota, TechStyle Fashion Group and Mercedes-Benz. (Cognigy, Ziptone)
