Google parent Alphabet has spoken with investment bankers from Morgan Stanley about the possibility of making a bid for HubSpot, an online marketing software company with a market value of $35 billion, insiders said. That's what Reuters writes.
The potential acquisition would be Alphabet's largest ever. The company had $110,9 billion in cash at the end of December. The suspicions caused HubSpot shares to rise 11% last week and Alphabet shares to fall 1%.
HubSpot, which went public in 2014, was expected to generate $2023 billion in revenue by 2,2, but investors see a lot of potential in the company.
An acquisition would be a good addition to Google's software suite; competition can increase CRM competition in the market where Salesforce and Microsoft are dominant. (Reuters)
