Self-scheduling occurs when a central WFM or planning department does not draw up the work schedule for a group of employees, but employees fill in the schedule themselves based on the requested capacity. It can be part of self-organization. Specific software is often used for this that shows which days and times employees are needed. Employees can subscribe to this. Additional rules are often necessary to ensure a fair course of events. The requested capacity is issued centrally, for example by a forecaster.
