The Telemarketing Code, the self-regulatory code that ensures that organizations use telemarketing in a responsible manner, was last revised in 2020. A lot has happened in the market since then. That is why the sector association DDMA and the DDMA Telemarketing Committee are now taking the initiative to update this self-regulation together with the sector, according to a press release from the DDMA.
Major developments have taken place in the telemarketing sector in recent years, such as the emergence of intermediaries, the temporary freeze on recruitment in the energy sector and the transition to an opt-in system. The government also expects the industry to take a critical look at quality and consumer satisfaction. For DDMA reason for the Code Telemarketing in order to continue working on a future-proof telemarketing sector for consumers, agencies and clients.
The DDMA Telemarketing Committee has made a proposal for improvements to the Code based on an initial analysis. The Committee is happy to discuss this with experts who use the Code in practice and want to make a difference for the sector. Interested parties can register before June 9 with DDMA's legal counsel Sara Mosch at saramosch@ddma.nl. The revision process will then start as soon as possible. (DDMA)
